Galvanized gteel expanded metal is made of high quality low carbon galvanized steel sheet after being expanded on the automatic expanded machines. This kind of expanded metal has the features of low cost, low maintenance, slip-resistance surface and stain resistance. Galvanized expanded metal or metal sheet is available in flattened or standard (raised) styles with a variety of options in area, thickness, pattern, area and design. Expanded metals are available in choice of finishes. Galvanizing is a popular and common form of finishing. The galvanized finish should cover the entire surface of the material and any exposed or unfinished surfaces should be considered unacceptable. The coating thickness for most applications should be in accordance with ASTM-123 (latest revision) standards. The sheets are dipped in molten zinc and allowed to dry. Due to the temperatures that are required to melt the zinc, warping and distortion may occur, especially in materials lighter than 18 gauge. In addition, patterns with openings smaller than 1/2" are not recommended for galvanizing because the openings may become filled.

Galvanized expanded metal can be purchased in stock sheets or can be cut to size and custom formed in order to meet specific project requirements.
Galvanized expanded metal can be sheared, welded, flame cut, torch cut, laser or water jet cut, plasma cut, countersunk and drilled for complete versatility, both in the shop and field.
The easiest way to retrofit over existing flooring is by tack welding the galvanized expanded metal directly over the slippery surface.
Non-slip galvanized expanded metal is a cost effective slip resistant solution to slippery flooring that is protected against corrosion. Galvanized expanded metal easily retrofits over existing slippery flooring to provide a durable and safe walking surface.
