Description:1970 saw the lifting of GM's ban on engines greater than 400 cid
installed in midsize cars. Although Oldsmobile had gotten around
that rule in 1968 and 1969 through the Hurst/Olds, this now enabled
Oldsmobile to offer its 455 cid V8 in all 4-4-2s. The Oldsmobile
442 was the pace car for the 54th annual Indy 500 back in 1970.
