Granular Multi-MediaFilters

ODIS granular multi-mediafilters (M-M series) are suitable for a wide range of applications,from the removal of colloidal suspensions to the treatment ofconditioned water, heavily polluted with organic matter, algaeand dirt. The several series of granular M-M filters featuremedia layers of different heights. In each series, filters withdifferent diameters and types of filtering media areavailable. Filter choice is based on the type and characteristicsof the application.

• Uniform filtration with evenraw water distribution throughout the filter bed
• Uniform evacuation of wash water
• Effective regeneration of thefilter bed due to the high rate of up-flow;expansion and "fluidization" of the bed remove the accumulateddebris (solids captured during the filtration cycle)
• No channeling or formation ofmud balls
• Scouring and washing of each filteringelement to prevent and control biological growth in the filter

• The filter is divided into twochambers by a plate covered with conical diffusers for uniformdispersal of the water and effective use of the entire mediavolume (Model E400-400).
• Stable and highly efficient filtrationmaterials are used: crushed anthracite coal, crushed basaltand natural quartz sand. For special applications, granularactive carbon, resins and different combinations of media areavailable in accordance with customer requirements and ODISrecommendations.
• For some applications, in accordancewith customer requirements and ODIS recommendations, the up-flowwater wash can be conjoined with an air scour operation.

Models
